This has irritated me so much that mcdonald's somehow earned negative goodwill from me by adding the rewards system Even though i'm getting something for free and technically saving money, the reward feels so paltry and unfair that. Not sure how well this is known, but just in case, there is a workaround to order a la carte via the mcdonald's app if needed Whether it's a manager or store that refuses to charge the individual prices, this should enable you to order and pay through the app.
