Currently have all my savings in a hysa with a 3.4% yield Vusxx is a money market mutual fund offered by vanguard Thinking of moving it all into vusxx given the current 4.43% yield
Just want to gut check A hysa (high yield savings account) is a deposit account offered by banks or credit unions that provides a higher interest rate than traditional savings accounts Is there any practical difference in risk here
One reason i'm asking is because in other posts on this sub about where.
Vusxx still could come out ahead of that after accounting for state taxes But beware that other market funds may not be exempt from state tax. Vusxx has slightly more risk than a hysa, and it also tends to have a slightly higher yield Assuming you have read the prospectus, and are happy to accept the slightly more risk, then for sure, have at it and buy vusxx.
Hysa vs vusxx in 2025 by invest quietly » wed feb 05, 2025 6:10 pm jwalterweatherman wrote I have a diversified portfolio and i ignore the noise Fretting over political events won't change anything. But what if the hysa pays a much better rate, say 4.60% (vs 4.20% for vusxx)?
